Ingredients
2 quarts black haw berries
3 cups cider vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
6 whole cloves
Directions:
Wash and stem berries.
Add 1 cup of water and simmer for 5 minutes.
Place into a deep saucepan and add vinegar. Cook until fruit softens.
Remove from heat and run mixture through a strainer to remove seeds.
Place juicy pulp and skins into a deep saucepan. Add sugar and spices and mix thoroughly. Simmer over low heat till mix thickens while stirring occasionally.
Pour mix into hot, sterile jars and seal.
